Hakodate Shio Chicken Ramen (the ultimate chicken ramen)
Sometimes there are some great combinations and just dance in your mouth and make you feel happy. Our regional Hakodate Shio Chicken Ramen uses some of the seasonings of the region and a little pork stock to make this a great meal. You can prepare the chicken on its own in advance as the ramen portion we use our Umami Shio kits for the soup. If a bowl of soup is not your liking you can always just do a stirfry with some sauteed veggies, chicken and noodles in a pan.
The ginger and soy sauce are a staple of Asian cooking and give the chicken a slightly sweet flavor that pairs well with the chewy noodles. Our shio broth is vegetarian- so if you wanted to make this a completely vegetarian dish you can always substitute fried tofu with the soy-ginger sauce glaze as a substitute for the chicken.
