Where to buy ramen noodles that are fresh

markomark Food Guides

Urban diners eat out at the seemingly infinite numbers of ramen restaurants now populating our larger cities. Even if you can get to a ramen restaurant it isn’t always great, and the good spots are often packed, leading to long lines and hungry bellies. But what if the closest ramen restaurant is miles away.. where to buy ramen noodles to eat? Not only that.. how about restaurant fresh ramen? Our favorite way to tackle this problem is, of course, to make ramen at home.

Hakubaku USA provides soft fresh ramen contained in our Restaurant Fresh Ramen sets and Kae-dama kits. These noodles are soft- right out of the bag. And can be cooked hard or soft just like you can at your local ramen restaurant. Use in Yakisoba, Ramen, or Stir-fry- check out these recipes for yourself!

Soft & fresh versus fried & hard ramen noodles

High-quality ramen noodles have a distinct chewy spring and a definite wheaty sweetness. It’s hard, if not impossible, to recreate such noodles at home. Sure, recipes exist, but they require alkaline salts and high-pressure extruders. We recommend skipping this step and buying something fresh from Hakubaku the Ramen Noodle experts!

Ten for $1 may seem like a deal.. but..

Most of the store-bought variety (think college dorm staple food) noodles are fried to extract all of the moisture out of them. Sure, that’s great for your disaster kit that has to last 2 years..but really- it’s not the best. Fried noodles will have an oily fried taste that usually is overpowered by the seasoning packet to mask that flavor. In comparison, Hakubaku Shoyu and Tonkotsu Flavor Fresh Ramen kits and our Kaedama Fresh Noodle kits are made in Japan by Ramen experts and have been since 1941

At Hakubaku fresh, quality Japanese ramen noodles are key. We never fry the noodles, use preservatives, or MSG! We dry the noodles using our natural FreshLock Method that lets the moisture out naturally – but stops short of a totally dry, hard noodle. This leaves the noodle flexible, flavorful, and ready to add to your next dish. Cooks in 2 minutes for hard, or, 2:30 minutes for a softer noodle. Never breaks down or gets mushy in soup! Both our Kaedama and Ramen Kits contain a perfect portion of noodles in their own sealed pouches ready to use.
